Focus On: Tobacco
Because tobacco is a major avoidable cause of death and disease worldwide, helping prevent and reduce tobacco use is a top priority for the CDC Foundation. From campaigns to counter tobacco ads targeting urban youth to a global adult tobacco survey, the Foundation has helped CDC combat this global killer.

Bed Nets for Children

For just $5, you can help CDC purchase an insecticide-treated bed net that will protect up to three children in Africa from malaria. Bed nets have been shown to greatly reduce illness and death from malaria, especially in children under 2.

Viral Hepatitis Action Coalition

A new coalition of private-sector and community partners is helping CDC make meaningful advances in the prevention, screening and treatment of viral hepatitis. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 4 million Americans and 170 million people worldwide, and is the leading cause of liver transplants. Hepatitis B infects an estimated 1.4 million Americans and contributes to 3,000–5,000 deaths per year.
