Partners: Individuals

“With diseases like SARS that can travel so quickly in today’s global environment, we need an active, well-supported institution to protect us.”

While it might be difficult to imagine that a single person could play a role in the battle against global threats like terrorism, violence, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and emerging infectious diseases, there is indeed a way. By supporting the CDC Foundation, you can make a powerful difference in fighting the world's most serious threats to our health and safety. The unique opportunity to connect with an organization as esteemed as CDC has inspired a diverse network of donors, from business owners to school children, to support CDC through the CDC Foundation. Every gift – large and small – contributes to the CDC Foundation’s ability to enhance the impact of CDC.

Promoting Safe Water for All

"It’s amazing how a little funding with the CDC Foundation can go so far. Our safe water endowment started with a simple idea, and the momentum and support continues to grow beyond our wildest dreams.” - Rose Gangarosa

Dr. Eugene and Mrs. Rose Gangarosa established the Gangarosa Endowment for Safe Water in 2000 to provide an ongoing source of support for CDC’s safe water initiatives.

Bed Nets for Children

Meet Our Donors:
Getting Active in the Fight Against Malaria

Many children, schools and youth groups have contributed to the Foundation's Bed Nets for Children program, which helps CDC purchase insecticide-treated bed nets for children in Africa where a child dies from malaria every 30 seconds. A contribution of just $5 is enough to purchase a bed net that can protect up to three children. One of the Foundation's partners, Children for Children, has developed curriculum and tool kits for schools and youth groups to help raise money to purchase bed nets.
